For one reason or another britpop’s finest, Sleeper, had largely missed me. I can’t really figure out why but as I listen to them now I can’t help but hit myself for not finding them earlier.
‘Alice In Vain’ is an astoundingly good track, the track which lead me to Sleeper. From their 1994 album Smart, ‘Alice In Vain’ is a poppy, swirling song documenting poor Alice’s trouble fitting in with the other boys and girls.
I’ve played this song about 33 times in the last week. I’ll probably play it 33 more times. It’s that good!
