Why yes, It is a bit silly to have a party based around a music blog’s anniversary. I wanted to put on an event for a while now and this seems as good a reason as any. I have decided to celebrate the only way I know how: By hiding in a corner and playing some records.
Of course, it’s all about female fronted bands but this event is for everybody.
What’s a birthday party without some cake? Zoe Smith from This Little Home In Peckham will be preparing some amazing treats. Trust me, this woman’s culinary creativity knows no bounds. I completely understand if you want to attend completely based on the idea of free cake. I get it.
I promise I will leave the mopey records at home. Only fun stuff. This will include but is not at all be limited to the likes of…
You’re Only Massive/ The Tuts/ Aaliyah/ Full of Fancy/ Rocky Rivera/ Dressy Bessy/ Hopie Spitshard/ Masia One/ Bis/ that dog./ Belly/ Me and the Bees/ Rich White Ladies/ Plumtree/ Shannon & The Clams/ The Gore Gore Girls/ Henry’s Dress/ Amplify Dot/ Cub/ The Coathangers/ The Shangri-Las/ The Ronettes/ Rah Digga/ Missy Elliott/ Salt-N-Pepa/ Oh Blimey/ Sharades/ Supremes/ loads more that I can’t think of at this exact point in time.
This isn’t to say there won’t be some 90’s girl groups or 80’s pop icons involved at some point in the night.
If you have any specific requests or recommendations, please post away!
